Locals win Kansas Professional Rodeo Association

Following a six month rodeo season that began in April, the Kansas Professional Rodeo Association held its Championship Finals in Greensburg, Kan., the weekend of Aug. 24 through 26. 

Kevin and Scott Morlan of Las Animas won the year-end championship for team roping and Randy Morlan of Las Animas and Waide Jewel from Booker, Texas, won third place in the same event. 

Both teams competed in an estimated 30 rodeos throughout the season, accumulating enough winnings to qualify for the championship completion in Greensburg.
