New sign in memory of Erva Thaxton

A new sign was erected this past Summer at the Las Animas/Bent County Golf Course. The 3 1/2 ft X 5 ft stone sign was made possible through a memorial fund established by the Erva Thaxton Family. 

Ervie (as known to his friends) volunteered thousands of hours over 25 plus years to the improvements and maintenance of the golf course. Ervie passed away in 2011. The sign was placed near the entrance to the clubhouse with assistance of personnel from the Bent County Cemetery District. Additional landscaping will take place next spring.
