A display of mostly locally made quilts, table runners and wall hangings will be on display at Old Trail Gallery until July 21.
This is not a juried show, just an exhibit to show what local quilters have created, said Lenna Howerton.
“People enjoy the quilts so much we thought we would do something different,” said Howerton, explaining why the gallery is not featuring one of its member artists this month.
Of interest to local cattlemen, Judy Wallace has a quilt depicting area cattle brands on display. It is located on the north wall of the room adjacent to the gallery.
There are also century old quilts mixed among more contemporary creations.
The gallery, located on the northeast corner of Bent Avenue and Sixth Street in Las Animas, is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday during the summer.
