WEEK IN RELIGION
After raising $1.4 million through a Kickstarter fund, the “Bibliotheca” project has come to fruition. Launched in 2014, “Bibliotheca” creator Adam Lewis Greene set out to create a four-volume, single column Bible. Some 15,000 supporters donated to the project and after spending 2 years working with copy editors, Bible scholars and proofreaders, Greene’s new Bible will be available for delivery in December. Unlike the traditional Bible, “Bibliotheca” doesn’t include chapter headings, breaks, verse numbers and footnotes, and is set up to read more like a novel. Because of the success of the “Bibliotheca” campaign, other major publishers are releasing multi-volume reader’s Bibles. “It wasn’t purely aesthetics that drove people,” said J. Mark Bertrand, who runs the site Bible Design Blog. “It was the idea that the text could be experienced in a less mediated way.”

STUDY SAYS
Millennials agree more with Marx than the Bible
A majority of millennials agree more with Karl Marx than they do with the Bible, according to a new study. In a study conducted by YouGov and the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, researchers found that 64 percent of millennials agree with Marx’s statement, “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his need,” while 53 percent agree with the Bible statement, “if any would not work, neither should he eat.” The trend shows that millennials are less critical of Socialism and Communism than older generations.

“Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms” by Tim Tebow
In this powerful book, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow passionately shares glimpses of his journey staying grounded in the face of disappointment, criticism, and intense media scrutiny. Following an exceptional college football career with the Florida Gators and a promising playoff run with the Denver Broncos, Tebow was traded to the New York Jets. He was released after one season. In “Shaken,” Tebow talks about what he’s learned along the way, building confidence in his identity in God, not the world. This moving book also features practical wisdom from Scripture and insights gained from others who have impacted Tebow in life-changing ways.
