It takes some planning, but each year Jay’s Elves pull off a community-oriented Christmas dinner that is nothing short of spectacular.
For 30 years, Jay’s Community Christmas Dinner offers a place for people to receive an “all-the-trimmings” turkey dinner, listen to local entertainment and enjoy the fellowship of fellow La Juntans. And this year was no different. On Sunday, shortly after the doors opened at 11 a.m., a long line formed inside the Knights of Columbus building as people waited to be served their holiday meal.
Everything about Jay’s is through volunteering. From the Elves who donate and prepare the food to the Elves who serve the food and help set up and clean up after the event.
