PHS NEWS: Volunteers have enjoyed the holiday break. We will now take down the holiday decorations and get ready for a fabulous new year! We have lots of things planned. We enjoyed having 11 students from the Las Animas Elementary School volunteer to help us clean on Dec. 22, and they are learning how to help out in the community. They are pictured around the chair caddy in the Grand Hall. Events coming up: Bent’ Fort Chapter Annual Meeting and presentation - Jan. 14 at the museum beginning at 11 a.m. with meeting, lunch, then presentation. Mike and Patti Olsen will speak about, "Those Literate Ladies: Women Writing on the Santa Fe Trail."

FIELD TRIP: We are kicking the year off with a field trip on Jan. 31 to the CF&I Museum in Pueblo – leaving the museum at 8 a.m. Our monthly field trips are the last Tuesday of each month, when possible, and we enjoy the camaraderie and find ways to improve our operations and exhibits. It is a lot of fun making new friends and contacts.
