Saying goodbye isn't so hard when you are handing the parish over to your own father.

Saying goodbye isn't so hard when you are handing the parish over to your own father. Father Matthew Wertin is going to a parish in Pueblo to be closer to his clerical duties in the diocese, but he is leaving Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick's in the able hands of Father Harry Wertin, now fully ordained as a parish priest. Father Matthew also served at St. Mary’s in Las Animas since Spring 2013

Although older in years and experience than his son, Father Harry Wertin is newer in the duties of a parish priest. The parishioners at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick's hated to see Father Matthew go, but look forward to meeting Father Harry. Father Matthew baptized several children before retiring to the parish hall for a potluck dinner and a royal send-off featuring the Mariachi choir.
