Nov. 10, 1937 – June 6, 2017

Violet Marie Adams, 79, of Pueblo Colorado, went to be with her heavenly Father on June 6, 2017, after a strong and valiant battle with cancer.

Vi was devoted to her Lord and Savior, which showed through her lifelong love and compassion for others. Vi was the first of four daughters born to Andy and Sylvia Waldroupe of Hasty, Colorado, on Nov. 10, 1937. She graduated from Fountain High School in 1956.

Vi married Walter L. Adams on May 31, 1956, in Raton, New Mexico. They were married and worked side by side for 22 years.

To this union came four children, Paul Adams, Newkirk, Oklahoma; Lyle Adams (deceased); Gailene (David) Hamilton, Yoder Colorado; and Lesa (Ted) Jacobs Pueblo, Colorado.

She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who are all pretty sure she hung the moon. She is also survived by her three sisters, Janet Hollis, Carolyn (George) Jackson, Ruby (Donnie) Wilborn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Sylvia Waldroupe, her one true love Walter Adams, son Lyle Adams, and grand baby Terry Adams.

A celebration of Life will be held Saturday June 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the Fowler Elementary multi-purpose room, 601 West Grant Ave.

The family of Vi would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all of those who sent their love and prayers. We also want to thank her team at Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their compassion, care and love over the past year. We will never forget your kindness.
