The Colorado High School Coaches Association hosted its All-State Games, in Alamosa June 8-12. Nine recently graduated local high school student-athletes took part in the games.

Nine recently graduated local high school student-athletes took part in the games.

The list includes La Junta's Dax Bender, McClave's Tatum Chase, Rocky Ford's Selena Medina, Jacob Rodriguez, Enriquez Romero, Cody Venem, Sophia Alvarez and Emily Aragon, and Swink's Meira Stanger.

Bender played for the South team in the football game, on June 9 at Adams State University's Rex Field.

Medina played for the Red team in the softball game, on Wednesday at ASU's softball field.

Rodriguez, Romero and Venem took part in the wrestling match, which was June 9 at ASU's Plachy Gym.

Alvarez and Aragon ran in the girls' cross country meet, on June 10.

Stanger played for the Red team in the volleyball match on June 10 at the ASU field house.

Chase played for the Blue team in the girls' basketball tournament, which was at Plachy Gym on June 9 and 10.

In addition to the local athletes, Rocky Ford softball coach J.C. Carrica coached the Red team in the softball game.
