This week is Homecoming for the Las Animas Trojans, and it is a week full of activity both within the school walls, and on courts and fields.

First off, the Trojans will compete in dress-up days where winners for most creative will win prizes during the school week:

Monday – Face Painting & Wild Hair Day (prize for the best painted face and best wild hair will be given)

Tuesday – Locker decorating & Crazy Hat Day (prize for the best decorated locker in each class and a prize for the craziest hat/cap will be given)

Wednesday – PJ Day (class with the most % of participants will get a prize)

Thursday – Blue vs. White Dress-up Day (the group of students that has the most color will receive a prize)

Friday – Parade (Theme is Trojan Pride – Blue & White)

Aside from the dress-up days, there are several other extra-curricular activities taking place during the school week including wall decorating in the gym, and teachers can get in the spirit of homecoming by decorating their doors for a prize.

All proceeds from competition entrances and such go to Las Animas Student Council who is working to generate funds in order to purchase a new Trojan mascot costume.

Sports competitions for the week are as follows:

Monday: Junior High VB vs. Cheraw at 4 p.m.

Tuesday: High School Volleyball at Hoehne at 4 p.m.

Thursday: Junior High Football vs. Hoehne at 4 p.m. and High School VB vs. Crowley County at 4 p.m.

Friday: Homecoming Parade at 2 p.m.

Saturday: High School Football vs. Custer County at 1 p.m. and High School VB at Trinidad at 10 a.m.

With all of the Trojan/Viking activities this week, there are ample opportunities to get out and support the school and the community. Enjoy!
