Depending on what side of Bent County you live on, the Southeast League football game pitting the Las Animas football team against McClave on Sept. 29 ended with two extremely varying outcomes.

The Trojans, coming off of multiple losses, looked to go in and stand strong against the State-Ranked Cardinals. On Homecoming night however, the Cardinals thought otherwise.

McClave came out strong and scored 60 unanswered points to pull away from the Trojans early, winning 60-0.

As the close rivals are headed in opposite directions, Las Animas fell to 1-4 on the season and 0-1 in Southeast League play while McClave improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in Southeast League play.

The Cardinals will host Granada Friday evening beginning at 7 p.m. Granada enters the game winless at 0-5 overall. The two share a common opponent having faced Swink. The Cardinals defeated Swink handily, winning handily on Sept. 15, 42-12. Granada lost to the Lions on Sept. 1, 48-28.

Meanwhile Las Animas will make another short trek on Friday evening to Wiley to face the Panthers. Wiley shares a 1-4 record, having lost to to Holly 40-6 last week.

The Trojans will attempt to counter Wiley's Braden Grogan, who averages 151.8 rushing yards per game this season, with their own rushing attack featuring Jake Davis, who logs 105.7 rushing yards per game.

Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
