Chuckwagon food was outstanding

Judy Hensley reports about Doc Jones’ Chuckwagon Dinner at Boggsville on Saturday night. “The food was delicious,” said Hensley. “There were three kinds of potatoes, the rolls and biscuits were great, and the entrees were beef brisket and chicken fried steak. Peach cobbler was the dessert.”

Also available for the audience’s entertainment was the music of Wes McKinley and Billy Whitfield. McKinley’s teenage grandson made a great debut as a fiddler. Also on hand was Floyd Beard, a cowboy poet, top-five nominee of the Western Music Association, who kept the crowd laughing with his cowboy stories of ranch life.

“Boggsville was all spiffed up from the recent Boggsville Days,” said Hensley. “The people in Las Animas are making this historical place shine.”
