Four new employees for the spring semester
With the start of a new semester, Otero Junior College is proud to announce the addition of several new staff members. Jennifer Pollmiller, originally from Littleton, is OJC’s new Social Media and Recruitment Coordinator. Pollmiller is an alumna of OJC and completed her associates degree at OJC before transferring to complete her Bachelors of Science in mass communications at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Pollmiller is also a Rattler Rodeo Team alumna. Pollmiller enjoys roping, running barrels, training horses, water skiing, and painting. When asked what she likes about OJC Pollmiller responded, “I like everything, the community, the people, the wide variety of athletics, and the passion of the employees.” Pollmiller hopes while working at OJC she will be able to grow the social media platforms an improve enrollment rates by developing relationships at college fairs and other recruiting events. She hopes her efforts will continue to build the OJC brand. Dillon Martin, from La Junta, joined OJC as the Communications and Foundation Assistant. Martin is a graduate of Swink High School and recent alumnus of OJC. He is also a President’s Leadership alumni. Martin works at OJC part-time while attending school at Colorado State University-Pueblo (CSU-P). At CSU-P Martin is working towards completing his bachelor’s degree in economics and finance. Martin enjoys all aspects of OJC - everything from the people to his job and the atmosphere of OJC. Martin hopes while working at OJC he can be an asset to the college helping however he can and serving in whatever role is necessary. In his free time Martin enjoys off-roading and rock crawling in his Polaris RZR. He and his family enjoy attending multiple off-roading rallies a year and camping. Ross Stotz is OJC’s new International Relations Office Activities Coordinator. Stotz is retried from the US Air Force. While in the Air Force he specialized in radio and satellite communications and maintenance. Stotz received an associate’s degree from the Community College of the Air Force. One of Stotz’s hobbies is leather crafting bags, belts, cases, and custom items. He also enjoys reading, history, politics, and sci-fi. Leroy Martinez, originally from Fowler, CO, has joined the facilities and maintenance staff. He has been a maintenance worker for nearly 20 years and has had experience in both grounds and facilities maintenance over his career. Martinez is comfortable working in all aspects of maintenance. Martinez attended school from kindergarten through the 12th grade in Fowler. He was a single parent and raised two boys that he is very proud of today. In his spare time Martinez likes to fish, play basketball, remodel houses, play cards, and he enjoys music. Martinez enjoys working at OJC because of the nice people he interacts with on a daily basis. “We have a good staff at OJC.” Martinez said. Martinez said he hopes to be at OJC for many years because he enjoys his job and hopes to make the campus shine during his time here.
