Despite winning the only game it played last week, the La Junta High School baseball team fell from fourth to fifth on the Colorado High School Activities Association's Class 3A poll.

The polls were posted on the CHSAANow.com web site on Monday.

One other Tri-Peaks League team, Lamar, remained in the No. 2 spot.

University continues to be the top-ranked team, followed by Lamar, Sterling, Faith Christian, La Junta, Eaton, Peak to Peak, Colorado Academy, Valley, and The Academy.

Buena Vista is listed as "others receiving votes," along with Kent Denver, Lutheran, Resurrection Christian, Weld Central, Alamosa, Aspen, Fort Lupton, and Platte Valley.

Rocky Ford stayed at the No. 8 position on the Class 2A poll, while the County Line Rivals, who were 10th last week, fell out of the Top 10.

Peyton is the new No. 1-ranked team, followed by Paonia, Limon, Sedgwick County, Hotchkiss, Yuma, Lyons, Rocky Ford, Haxtun, and Dawson.

County Line and Fowler are mentioned as "others receiving votes," as are Calhan, Sargent, Dayspring Christian, Meeker, Evangelical Christian, Front Range Christian, Sanford, Denver Christian, and Highland.

In Class 1A, Manzanola, which was ranked eighth last week, dropped out of the Top 10.

Holly remains the top-ranked team, followed by Cornerstone Christian, Otis, Elbert, Caliche, Cotopaxi, Peetz, Stratton/Liberty, Longmont Christian, and Dove Creek.

Manzanola is other the "others receiving votes" list along with Mile High Academy, Fleming, and Springfield.
