Las Animas currently has no ranked individuals on either the girls’ or boys’ teams.
McClave has three ranked boys. Ian Beckett is fifth in the long jump at 19-3 1/4, Dawson Roesch is ninth in the 100 in 12.03, and Mavric Leighty is 10th in the 1,600 in 5:11.04.
The Cardinals are ranked in two boys’ relay events. They are third in the 4x800 in 9:43.62 and ninth in the 4x100 in 48.19.
Four Cardinals are close to qualifying. Roesch is 12th in the 200 in 24.92, which is 0.45 seconds short; Beckett, is 13th in the 100 in 12.16, which is 0.13 short; Marcus Perales is 14th in the 200 in 56.73, which is 0.48 off; and Zach Keith is 23rd in the high jump at 5-2, which is two inches away.
Three Lady Cardinals are in the rankings. Shalea Watts is fourth in the 400 in 1:06.22 and fifth in the 800 in 2:43.18; McKenzie Watts is seventh in the shot put at 31-11 and seventh in the discus at 92-10; and Becca Steerman is 12th in the 1,600 in 6:34.95.
McClave is ranked in three girls’ relays. It is third in the 4x800 in 11:46.04, fourth in the 800 sprint medley in 2:03.13, and sixth in the 4x400 in 4:57.95.
Two more Lady Cardinals are in contention for qualifiying. Katie Roesch is 10th in the 400 in 1:08.59, which is 0.23 off; and Gentry Martin is 12th in the 200 in 30.39, which is 0.25 seconds short.
The Kim/Branson co-op team has one individual in the rankings as Zariah Mason has the best time in the girls’ 100 in 12.90.
The Lady Mustangs also have the best 4x100 time in 53.99.
No Kim/Branson boys are currently ranked. Zephyr Mason is close as he is 15th in the long jump at 18-3, which is two inches short.
