Lamar Community College offers entrepreneurship class

Lamar Community College is inviting entrepreneurs who want to start or expand an existing business to a workshop called Introduction to Entrepreneurship.

The workshop is on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Small Lecture Hall (Bowman, Rm. 138). Participants will learn to reduce the risk of starting a new business, receive mentoring from actual entrepreneurs, design a business plan, learn to avoid legal pitfalls, evaluate their commitment to succeed, and learn about the challenges and rewards of business ownership.

Participants who preregister will receive $35 in free course materials. To register, call (719) 336-1586 or e-mail E-ship@lamarcc.edu by Sept. 23 at 5 p.m. A continental breakfast and light lunch will be served.

The workshop is the first of three informational workshops that will be conducted this fall that will give beginning and established entrepreneurs the opportunity to shape and grow a successful business. It is funded by a grant from The Walmart Foundation and the American Association of Community Colleges.
