The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a motor vehicle crash that left the driver of a John Deere farm tractor dead and two other people injured, five miles east of Pueblo on Highway 50.
Paul “Butch” Bregar, 64, of Avondale, sustained fatal injuries after the tractor he was driving was struck by a minivan driven by Kellie Gruntorad, 43 of Ordway.
Bregar and Gruntorad were both traveling eastbound in the right lane when the Dodge minivan collided its front with the rear of the tractor. The tractor overturned and ejected Bregar and the minivan rotated clockwise across both eastbound lanes and came to rest against a Jersey barrier, facing west.
Gruntorad and the lone passenger of the minivan, Ryan Gruntorad, 10, both sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. Seatbelt use is still undetermined. Alcohol and drug use do not appear to be factors in the crash.
