In January, McClave Undivided High School received notification of achieving the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. The award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth on the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools. These schools “exceed” expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and “meet or exceed” expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps. The award is distributed annually to the most high-growth schools across the state.
Upon asking for his thoughts, McClave School District Superintendent Terry Weber responded, “I am very pleased with the recognition of hard work this award demonstrates.” School Board President Curtis Sniff was equally pleased; “This is something that the students and staff at McClave have been working on for a long time. I am very happy to see the hard work pay off.” Working hard is an understatement. This past year, McClave has been in overdrive, striving for improvement in the classroom. Congratulations McClave High School students and staff!
