A man’s dead body was found in a field southwest of Manzanola late Sunday morning.
At 11:30 a.m. on Sunday a rancher called 911 reporting he had found a deceased body in a pasture off of County Road 11, according to the Otero County Sheriff’s Office.
The manner and cause of death, as well as the identification of the deceased, are unknown pending an autopsy at the El Paso County Coroner’s office in Colorado Springs. The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday morning. The investigation is in early stages. Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
