Curtis Dale Byers, 47 of La Junta died Nov. 21, 2009, in La Junta.
Curtis was born March 5, 1962, in La Junta to Robert Orville and Betty E. (McCullough) Byers Sr. He attended school in McClave, graduating in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography and riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife JoAnna Dillon of the La Junta home; his mother Betty Helphingstine of Las Animas; children Caitlin and Trevor of Las Animas, step-children Micah and Hannah Dillon of La Junta; sisters, Elizabeth Byers of Las Animas, niece Dusty Rose Byers of Las Animas, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Byers Sr. and his brother, Robert Byers Jr.
Funeral services were held Saturday Nov. 28 at the First Baptist Church in Las Animas. Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home and Arkansas Valley Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
