Esther Weimer, 97, a life long Prowers County resident died Jan. 7, 2010, at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo.
She was born Nov. 9, 1912, in Burstall Saskatchewan, Canada, to David and Katie Schick.
She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Schleining Brock of Wiley, RuthWeimer of Greeley; seven grandchildren, Maralyn (Jay) Sneller of Wiley, Diane (Dave) Reyher of Buena Vista, Linda (Dave) Burns of Glendale, Ariz., Jean (Darrell) Sykes of McClave, Jim (Cindy) Schleining of Wiley, Loren (Cindy) Schleining of Oxford, Kan., Brenda (Carlos) Orozco of Greeley; two step-grandchildren, Carla (Dan) Flook of Fort Collins, Karen Brock of Walsh; 13 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Joan Weimer of Wiley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Lamar with Pastor Mike Schneider officiating.
Burial was in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar with Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
