Felix L. Gonzales Jr., 55, of Maxwell, N.M., died Dec. 20, 2009, in Fort Collins.

He was born to Felix and Lucille Gonzales in Loveland on June 23, 1954. He grew up in Loveland and worked as a cement finisher then moved to New Mexico in 1985, where he also farmed and raised cattle with his father.

He is survived by two children, Anthony Valdez of Maxwell, N.M., and Laura Gonzales of Las Animas; eight grandchildren; his mother, Lucille DeHerrera of Loveland; nine brothers and sisters, Joe Montoya of Denver, Nonda Elder of Loveland, Angie Covais of Fort Collins, Danny Gonzales of Severance, Lola Gonzales of Loveland, Ruth Mayeda of Milliken, Eddie Gonzales of Loveland, Ernie Gonzales of Denver and Leo Gonzales of Loveland; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in Maxwell, N.M., after cremation. An open house to celebrate his life was held for family and friends on Dec. 23 in Fort Collins.
