Las Animas School District HECTOR of the Week award winners are, from left: Junior high: Tanaya is always reliable. She does whatever she is asked to do with a positive attitude. Tanaya is also a tough competitor in athletics, and she represents our schools well in sports. She treats people with respect and compassion. She delivers as a student, an athlete, and a citizen. We are all very proud of Tanaya’s presence and efforts in our school!” High school: Zereyah Hernandez has grown to become quite the leader in academics and athletics. She is a great help to the students around her and leads her in-class groups without seeking attention or direction. She steps up when needed without being asked. Staff: Mrs. Armstrong is very passionate about her job and shows optimism by always being the first person to volunteer her help.
