Fort Carson’s 4ID to host community engagement day at Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site

The 4th Infantry Division will welcome members of the public to a community engagement day at the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 26.

Attendees will have the chance to interact with Soldiers from the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., and to learn about the military vehicles they operate and the on-going training at the maneuver site.

Col. Erik Oksenvaag, Fort Carson garrison commander, will provide opening remarks. Additionally, Col. Anthony Keller, 1st SBCT commander, will provide a training brief and explain the unique training environment at PCMS.

The 1st SBCT will be conducting training at PCMS Aug. 20 through Sep. 5 in support of 4th Inf. Div.’s training exercise Lethal Ivy.

Lethal Ivy is a training opportunity for members of 4th Inf. Div. to conduct a distributed exercise using live subordinate brigades and simulations as a medium to plan, prepare, execute, and assess actions in a large-scale combat operation scenario.
