The County Line Rivals have had a good run lately. The combined Wiley/McClave High School baseball team, in the past 10 days, have defeated Las Animas by scores of 5-4 and 21-7 in divisional play, and this past Saturday dropped the number one ranked Swink Lions by scores of 13-10 and 19-18.

Caden Eastin and Steven Weber picked up the wins for the Rivals against Las Animas, but the pitching was not as sharp for the two starters against Swink as Christian Delamaestra and Able Salazar came in late and recorded wins.

The victory over Swink was achieved through offense. Senior Gabe Salazar recorded two home run blasts and senior Kenny Delamaestra hit his first high school home run, but the real fireworks were two walk off game winning home runs. Freshman Steven Weber hit a grand slam home run to win game one and senior Able Salazar hit a three run walk off blast to win game two.

The Rivals host Crowley County at 10 a.m. on May 2 to conclude the regular season. County Line is 13 and 3 overall.
