McClave High School alumna Karlee Stuart became the first Peru State (Nebraska) women's basketball player to earn Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week (POW) honors this week.

PERU, Neb. - McClave High School alumna Karlee Stuart became the first Peru State (Nebraska) women's basketball player to earn Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week (POW) honors this week. After having two double-doubles during the week and helping lead the Bobcats to their first win, Stuart was named the POW on Monday as announced by conference officials.

Stuart and the Bobcats beat future Heart foe Grand View University last Monday 72-56 in Des Moines. Against the Vikings, Stuart had a game-high 26 points and 15 rebounds while playing in just 29 minutes.

Later in the week, Peru State faced Dordt University for the second time this season and fell 77-61, although the game was much closer than the score indicated. Stuart finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

During the two games, Stuart connected on 11 of 12 free throws for 91.7 percent.
