The Colorado High School Activities Association and the Denver Post recently announced its respective All-State baseball teams with seven players from the area being honored.

The Colorado High School Activities Association and the Denver Post recently announced its respective All-State baseball teams with seven players from the area being honored.

CHSAA announced its All-State team on Friday and the Post announced its team on Sunday.

Three players from the County Line Rivals are Class 2A All-State in Christian Dellamaestra, Caden Eastin and Steven Weber. All three are honorable mention and they were the only Santa Fe League players that were named.

State champion Rye, which played several local teams this season, had the Class 2A Player of the Year in Trent Hughes and another first team performer in Luis Ortiz Jr. Bailey Benz and Ryan Drury were both honorable mention.

Rye's Stacey Graham was the Class 2A Coach of the Year.

In Class 1A, several District 3 players were placed on the All-State team. Three were first team in Holly's Ricardo Juarez, Granada's Koy Palmer and Eads' Tyler Rouse. Springfield's Ross Dunlap and Jeb Schroder, Granada's Ryan Keoller and Holly's Mason Pierce were all honorable mention.

La Junta High School's Cody Knoell was named to the Class 3A team. Knoell was an honorable mention selection.

Three Lamar players were placed on the first team. Brent Crampton, Darin Cook and Jake Specht were the first team selections and another Savage, Draven Adame, was honorable mention.

CHSAA

The only local players on the CHSAA All-State team were in Class 2A. County Line's Eastin was a second team selection while Dellamaestra and Weber were both honorable mention.

Also named honorable mention were Crowley County's Bryce Buhr, Swink's Bryar Kirkland and Las Animas' Michael Lopez.

Rye's Hughes was also named the Class 2A Player of the Year by CHSAA, and Graham was the Coach of the Year. Ortiz was also a first team selection and Benz was second team.

In Class 3A, Lamar's Cook was first team and Kaleb Hansen was honorable mention. Buena Vista's Trevor Close was also honorable mention.

In Class 1A, Holly's Juarez was first team and Granada's Keoller and Palmer and Eads' Rouse and Marc Solis were all second team.
