The 10th annual Boggsville Days is coming Thursday, Oct.
Monday, Mental Health Colorado, the state’s leading advocacy organization for people experiencing mental health and substance use conditions, announced that Wendy Buxton-Andrade, a former Prowers County Commissioner, will join the organization as its Vice President of Government Affairs.

A massive fire broke out at a structure commonly referred to as “the old popcorn factory” one block south of Highway 50 on 12th Street in Rocky Ford on Sunday evening, devastating the long-abandoned building and sending plumes of thick smoke into the sky.The blaze, which began shortly after 6 p.m., quickly engulfed the structure, drawing the attention of nearby residents and prompting an extensive emergency response.Multiple fire departments from surrounding areas, including Rocky Ford, La Junta, and Manzanola, responded to the scene.
