Tradition lives on: Oldest continuous fair in state celebrates 147 years
The oldest continuous fair in the State of Colorado celebrated 147 years last week and earned a nod from Mother Nature in the process, having avoided a torrential downpour two days after events concluded at the Arkansas Valley Fair in Rocky Ford.As a whole, the fair was successful, thanks in large part to the continued support of southeastern Colorado residents and a slew of volunteers who make the fair possible each year. The fair, which ran from August 13-17, featured a variety of activities that catered to all ages.
