Close finish for senior golfers

La Junta Senior Golf League met Tuesday, May 16, to play nine holes of scramble golf. Forty-four players comprised nine teams (one team of 4 players and eight teams of 5 players). We welcomed a new member, Kimi Kelley. Each team was given a string in order to “lengthen” their putts on the green to better their score. It was very close scoring.

Regional Round-up: Baseball

La Junta The Tigers have found relative success on the diamond this season, sporting a 9-6 record thus far. That said, overall success will be measured, undoubtedly, in the weeks to come as the Tigers enter the final stretch of the regular season play against league opponents.

Trojans split SFL double-headers

The Las Animas Trojan Baseball squad had two double headers last week as they traveled to Swink for a rescheduled matchup against the Lions and on Saturday the Trojans hosted the Rocky Ford Meloneers. Both of these matches were league matches, so they count for regional and league standings.
