The second through seventh place finishers in the Class 2A Boy’s High Jump championships each leapt 6-0 feet, making placing the top finishers a matter of how many attempts each athlete made on previous heights.

The Las Animas High School track and field team competed in their final pre-state tournament meet Friday evening at the Friday Night Lights Cyclone Inivtational at Pueblo West High School. The best finish came by way of the boy’s 4x200 meter relay, which finished fourth with a time of 1:36.32.

Shadrach Chanvez was recognized for participating in four sports during the 2021-2022 season. Chavez participated in golf, football, basketball, and baseball.
