On July 12, the City of La Junta announced, that after sustained heavy rainfall damage from earlier in the month, that the bridge at Brick and Tile Trail was removed and placed to the side.

On July 10, The Bent County Sheriff's Office announced a man working alone on his boat fell into the water and drowned at John Martin Reservoir.

On July 14th, the Bent County Sheriffs Office, Las Animas Fire Department and the Bent County Ambulance Service responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 50 westbound, just outside the City limits of Las Animas.
