Mrs. Christy Lynn Fuller

She was born October 24, 1970, to Robert and Bonnie Hoffman and attended

grade school through high school in Las Animas, Colo. where she graduated as co-valedictorian in May 1989. She enjoyed playing the flute, piano, singing with the high school girls ensemble, singing in church and spending summers in Exeland, Wis. with her grandparents Andrew and Helen Aspseter. Christy loved that she received her gift of music and love of literature from her mom. She attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kan. and graduated in May 1993 as a member of Summa Cum Laude and a degree in Elementary Education with certifications in English, Grades 4-8 and K-9 in music. While she was at Sterling College, Christy also participated in Choir and Band 1989-1993, Community Service Coordinator 1990-1991, Camp Counselor at Heartland Presbyterian Center 1991, and Envoy Music Ministry 1992-1993. In June 2000, she earned her Masters of Integrated Humanities and Education degree from Rockhurst University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Christy married Ray Wade Fuller in Kansas City, Mo. on May 11, 1996. They welcomed Andrew Pierce Fuller in Kansas City on 12/12/2000 and Augustus Michael Fuller on 12/19/2003 into the family. Christy considers her family to be her greatest accomplishment and sweetest source of joy. Christy had a total of 15 years of teaching for the Kansas City ISD School District, Kansas City Diocese, Uplift North Hills IB Preparatory and Accommodated Learning Academy. After being diagnosed on December 30, 2015 with Stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer, she said “Suffering has been my constant teacher. Though I was unable to teach, I persevered through my faith, family, friends and fiber (also known as yarn.) Christy is survived by her husband, Ray Fuller; sons, Andrew and Augustus Fuller of Colleyville; mother Bonnie Hoffman of Las Animas; sisters, Judy, Rosie Tally, Magalee and Cynthia Hoffman and brother, Kent Hoffman. The funeral service was on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Pleasant Glade Baptist Church in Colleyville.
