Arreda Lorraine Riley (Morgan) Hamilton passed away Dec. 23, 2015. She was born in Bent County, Las Animas, Colorado, Nov. 25, 1933, to Benjamin Buhel Morgan and Gladys Athene (Binam) Morgan, who were living on the farm her father homesteaded in 1925. She graduated from Central High School in 1951 in Pueblo, Colorado.


Arreda lived in Brighton, Colorado, for 42 years, but passed away at the home of her son Ian M. Hamilton in Aurora, Colorado. She was well known for getting the pedestrian overpass bridge built over Highway 85, which the State of Colorado has named in her honor.
Arreda is survived by two sons, Ian M. Hamilton and Harbin Pratt (Pat) Riley III; one daughter, Arreda Paulette Gasner; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters.


Arreda was cremated and will be buried in the spring or summer of 2016, next to her father and mother and little brother, in Bent County Cemetery in Las Animas, Colorado. For burial date contact Pat Riley at (970)560-5239.
