PIONEER ANNUAL LUNCHEON: Join us for our Annual Meeting and Sand Creek Presentation to be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18. This is when we thank our many volunteers, elect board members and officers for the next year, and generally celebrate our successes. We would love to have you attend! Steve Bourne will be cooking up a light luncheon and we will have a few desserts. You don’t have to bring a covered dish, just come and enjoy yourself. Shawn Gillette, Ranger from Sand Creek, will present the award-winning film, “The Sand Creek Massacre and the Civil War,” with a discussion to follow. Please join us!

QUILTING BEE DATE CHANGE: Join us for a Bent County Art Guild quilting bee on Wednesday, March 29, where we make quilts for a local children’s project. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. We need volunteers to iron, pin quilts together, and stitch binding to the quilts. All help will be appreciated. Contact Janell Roberts or Linda Bourne for further information.

HERITAGE LIBRARY: We are open for research on Tuesdays — come and check out the library and find your roots. We are working on a huge grant! Rearranging and improving. We would like to digitize some of our historical databases and can always use more volunteers for Diane Baublits. If you wish to volunteer in the library, please let us know. Tuesdays at 9 a.m. is the regular volunteer day if that would work for you.

MUSEUM HOURS: Our winter hours are Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will be closed Wednesday and Thursday and we are always closed on Sunday and Monday. We are glad to provide tours when we are not open — just call 456-6066 or 469-2721. Always glad to accommodate your family and friends. If you belong to the PHSBC, your visits are free!

BOGGSVILLE: Take a drive out to Bent County’s National Treasure! Boggsville will re-open in the spring; be watching for a list of upcoming events for 2017!
