May 25: Boggsville’s 2nd Annual Hayride & CEMETERY TOUR – Join us from 4 to 8 p.m. for this wagon ride from Boggsville to the Bent County/Cemetery. Tours begin every half hour. Hear the stories of the people who settled Bent County. Learn about their lives, hardships, tragedies and their successes as they scratched out a living. Four or more can make reservations by calling Linda Bourne at 688-2508, no reservations needed otherwise. $12 per adult, $5 per child, 12 and under free. Cost includes hot dog, chips and drink.

ALL-CLASS COFFEE: The Rawlings Heritage Center & Museum is proud to host the All-Class Coffee from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27. Join all classes for a coffee in the Grand Hall; visit the Heritage Library to see the progress made there; hang out in Bell Park to visit with your friends, and just enjoy your morning in Las Animas. Congratulations to the Class of 1967 on their 50th Class Reunion Celebration!

FIELD TRIP: Nine historical society members enjoyed a special “mining” day tour in southeastern Colorado last Wednesday. We visited the Walsenburg Mining Museum; the Ludlow Tent Colony Site National Historic Landmark between Walsenburg and Trinidad; the Southern Colorado Coal Miners Memorial and Coal Mining Museum in Trinidad; then had a delicious lunch at Nana & Nano’s Pasta House in Trinidad. It was such an interesting day. Next field trip is June 24 to Old Town Museum in Burlington.
