The Las Animas Trojan football squad, coming off of a big come-back win last Friday, Sept. 1, against Miami-Yoder, traveled to Fowler to face the league opponent Grizzlies.

With only 11 suited to play 8-man football, the Trojans struggled from the get-go.

Fumbling the first three of their four possessions, getting anything going offensively was next to impossible.

Defensively, facing a team with nearly 30 suited, the Trojans had their work cut out for them. Elijah Aragon stood out for the Trojans on the defensive end coming up with big stops, and forcing the Grizzlies to work for the points they scored.

Sadly, the hard work was not enough as the Grizzlies won 50-0. The Trojans have a bye next week, but host the annual Homecoming match-up on Sept. 15. The Homecoming game is against Custer County, and the Trojans take the field at 7 p.m. to face the Bobcats at Jack LaSalle Field.
