Cheraw School Board sends FCCLA Students to state competition.

On Monday night, the Cheraw School Board voted to support Superintendent Tonya Rodwell’s motion not to renew Principal Todd Werner’s contract The only “no” vote was from Crystal Provost. Two teachers appeared in Werner’s behalf before the meeting started, obviously knowing what was going to happen. The speakers were Kayla Bay and Vi Cunningham. Bay said Werner has gone to great lengths to be more acquainted with the elementary students, even attending a workshop on the Orton-Gillingham method in order to increase his understanding of classroom procedures. Both teachers said Werner was helpful and they supported extending his contract.

Members of Mary Sue Carroll’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America appeared before the School Board to request an additional amount of money so that they can attend the state meeting in Denver.
