Following a split of its games in Greeley, the La Junta High School baseball team dropped from second to fourth on the Colorado High School Activities Association Class 3A poll.

The polls were posted on the web site on Monday.

Another Tri-Peaks League team, Lamar, also dropped in the rankings as the Savages fell from first to second.

University, which defeated the Tigers, is the new No. 1 team. Following the Bulldogs are Lamar, Sterling, La Junta, Faith Christian, Kent Denver, Peak to Peak, Colorado Academy, Valley, and Eaton.

Buena Vista is listed as "others receiving votes," along with The Academy, Lutheran, Platte Valley, Delta, Weld Central, Bayfield, and Resurrection Christian.

Two local teams are in the Class 2A rankings. Rocky Ford fell from sixth to eighth, while County Line remained at No. 10.

Paonia continues to be the top-ranked team, followed by Limon, Peyton, Hotchkiss, Lyons, Sedgwick County, Dawson, Rocky Ford, Yuma, and County Line.

Fowler is mentioned in the "others receiving votes" category, as are Sargent, Haxtun, Dolores, Meeker, Front Range Christian, Calhan, Denver Christian, Wiggins, and Dayspring Christian.

Swink, which was ranked ninth in the previous poll, fell out of the rankings.

In Class 1A, Manzanola remained in the No. 8 position.

Holly is still ranked first, followed by Caliche, Otis, Cornerstone Christian, Dove Creek, Elbert, Fleming, Manzanola, Longmont Christian, and Cotopaxi.

Listed as "others receiving votes" are Peetz, Springfield, Stratton/Liberty, Rocky Mountain Lutheran, Sierra Grande, Cheyenne Wells, Nucla, and Eads.
