Three high school track and field meets which involved local teams did not take place because of the weather.
Cheraw, Las Animas and McClave were scheduled to be at the Cheyenne Wells Invitational on Friday, but it was called off for a second time. The meet was originally to have taken place on April 6, but it was called because of weather that day as well.
Fowler was scheduled to compete in the Sangre de Cristo Invitational, but it was canceled. It has not been determined if the meet will be rescheduled.
Cheraw, Kim/Branson, Las Animas, McClave, Rocky Ford, and Swink were all scheduled to participate in the Rick Hartley Invitational this past Saturday in Springs. School officials are looking into possibly rescheduling the meet, but no date has been determined, nor which local schools will compete in the meet.
La Junta High School will host the Tiger and Lady Tigers Relays this week.
Local teams expected to attend include Crowley County, Fowler, La Junta, and Swink.
The 44th Annual Lady Tiger Relays will take place on Thursday, while the Tiger Relays, which will be run for the 70th time, will take place on Friday. The meet begins at 2 p.m. at Tiger Stadium both days.
Cheraw, Las Animas, McClave, and Rocky Ford will be at the Holly Invitational on Saturday.
On Monday, Swink will host the annual Ray Headley Invitational. Along with Swink, local schools expected to compete include Cheraw, Crowley County, Fowler, Kim/Branson, La Junta, Las Animas, McClave, and Rocky Ford.
The meet begins at 9 a.m. at Gene Brown Field.
