The final show of the Arkansas Valley Community Concert Association's 2018-19 season will feature the Doo-Wah Riders, a high-energy country band with a Cajun twist.
For over 30 years, the Doo-Wah Riders have been riding their own patch of the musical range throughout the West. Their tight musicianship and powerful arrangements of classic country and original songs have made them favorites wherever they go.
The Doo-Wah Riders have appeared in concert with literally every well-known country legend, including Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alabama, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, The Oak Ridge Boys, Travis Tritt, Leann Rimes, John Denver, The Statler Brothers, and as a backup band for numerous other country favorites, including Glen Campbell, Billy Ray Cyrus and Martina McBride.
The Doo-Wahs appeared in the movie “Basic Instinct,” starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone, where they were featured doing one of their own songs, “Glowing in the Ashes.” They appeared on TNN’s “Prime Time Country” ad on the prime time television Dick Clark Production “Will you Marry Me?”
The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the Ed Stafford Theatre. Individuals who purchase a ticket for the 2019-20 season will get into the Doo-Wah concert free of charge. Members of the association will also be entered without charge. Tickets for nonmembers are $20 for adults; $10 for students, and are available at the door.
