William Jesse Cluck, known to most as Jesse, passed away surrounded by his family on April 22, 2019, at his home in Las Animas, Colorado, at the age of 71. Jesse was born on September 5, 1947, in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas, to Thomas and Katherine (Philips) Cluck.

Jesse was an entrepreneur starting with a Sonic in Little Rock, Arkansas, managing several Sonics in Arkansas, then moved to Guymon, Oklahoma, with his wife, Fabby and seven daughters. Jesse purchased an old Sonic Drive-In in Guymon, Oklahoma, and built it into a great family-owned-and-operated business with his daughters playing a vital role in the business’ success.

Jesse was a Christian but reaffirmed his faith in Christ and became a member of the Catholic Church in Guymon, Oklahoma, in 1988. He lived his Cursillo (course in religion) and was sponsored by his brother-in-law, Leroy Montano. He was active in the Catholic Church and several organizations.

He housed missionary nuns and sponsored the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). The family then moved to Lamar to manage the Sonic Drive-In, later purchasing the business, making it into a thriving business in the community.

Jesse and Fabby then moved to Las Animas, Colorado, and bought a building in which they built into a family restaurant, Seven Stars, named for their seven daughters. In 1994, Jesse began his bail bondsman business, LA Bail Bonds.

In 1996, he was awarded the Sheriff’s Citizen of the Year. Jesse retired from Seven Stars in approximately 2009 and since he was a family-oriented man, he and his wife traveled, visiting family and sight-seeing in their RV.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Fabiola Cluck; daughters, Jurella Costilla, Janice (Allen) Sorrow, Nancy Losey, Norma (Kevin) Swanson, Cynthia (Jeff) Hernandez, and Florinda Seventhia (Brian) Johnston; sisters, Patricia Gauwain and Carolyn Cluck; brothers, Orville Cluck, Doyle Cluck; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Fernando) Ruiz, Jean (Ted) Hemphill, Florinda Reed, Mabel Garcia; brother-in-law, Leroy Montano; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Katherine Cluck; daughters, Becky Cluck and Eunice Williams; siblings, Tommy, Otis, Joy, Thelma Lee, Lavada and Lena; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services for Jesse will be held at a later date.
