Rebecca Goodwin, planner and grant writer for Plaza Building project, arrived on scene Tuesday morning to greet crews arriving from CD Specialty and Summit Sealants. They did the preliminary walk-throughs for the job.

CD Specialty unloaded framework for scaffolding which will be the first step in shoring up the east wall of the Plaza Building. Representing CDS were Greg Curtis, Reynaldo Camacho and Barrio Rosario.

Arriving shortly after CDS, the crew from Summit Sealants arrived. Summit, the general contractor, was represented by Derrick Reede, project manager; Don Mora, project foreman; and Jeff Gaines, framing contractor. Gaines will do the fencing around the project, beginning in September.

Their mission on Tuesday was to do a walk-through to determine course of action and planning for the job ahead. The crews first need clearance from the demolition crew in order to start work. Demolition was doing basic work in the basement and, in general, preparatory work on Wednesday. Asbestos abatement will take place when plaster has to be disturbed.
