A Lamar woman was seriously injured in a crash on U.S. 50 east of Hasty on Thursday according to Colorado State Patrol.

Season Stracener, 47, was driving a green Honda Element westbound on U.S. 50 near pilepost 423 when she collided with a Kia Sorento driven by Emmitt Hassui, 24, of Las Animas.

State patrol said in a press release the Honda Element continued westbound before it again crossed the roadway and collided head on with a red Peterbilt tractor headed westbound. The tractor, driven by Howard Pennington, 66, of Oskaloosa, Kan., rolled to a stop on the highway.

Stracener was transported to Prowers Medical Center and then flown from there to Memorial Center Hospital. The other drivers' vehicles came to a stop upright on the highway and they sustained no injuries, according to state patrol.

Persons involved in the crash were restrained, state patrol said in a press release, and drugs and alcohol are being considered contributing factors to the crash.
