The County Line Rivals wrestling team had two placers at the Colorado High School Activities Association Class 2A State Wrestling Tournament at the Pepsi Center.

McClave's Jaime Ibarra placed the highest as he finished third in the 182-pound weight division.

Ibarra began the tournament by pinning Yuma's Cayden Lynch in 2:25. in the quarterfinals, he lost to Meeker's Colby Clatterbaugh in 38 seconds.

Ibarra fell into the consolation bracket where he pinned Clear Creek's Campbell Houston in 2:57. He defeated Cedaredge's Dusty Emig by an 8-5 decision, and he pinned Justin Mattison in 1:58.

In the third-place match, Ibarra defeated Wiggins' Devon Harshman by a 4-3 decision.

County Line's other placer was Taite Johnson of Eads, who took sixth place at 220 pounds.

Johnson started by pinning Paonia's Austyn Norris in 3:48. In the quarterfinals, he scored a 5-1 decision over Highland's Carter Jennings. However, he lost in the semifinals to Rocky Ford's Jesse Tapia in 4:20. Tapia went on to win the 220-pound championship.

In the consolation bracket, Johnson lost to Trinidad's Jacob Armijo in 1:57. He lost in the fifth-place match to Fowler's J.J. Horn in 59 seconds.

Also wrestling for the Rivals was Wiley's Ty Michael in the 106-pound weight division. Michael lost to Meeker's Trae Kennedy in the first round in 1:33, and then lost to Monte Vista's Dominic Lopez in 22 seconds.

Wiley's Tate Krentz wrestled at 132 pounds. His first match was against Cedaredge's Sean Dale, who pinned him in 36 seconds. Krentz then wrestled Richard Atencio of Sierra Grande/Centennial (San Luis), and Krentz lost in 4:57.

Aiden Michael, also of Wiley, wrestled at 145 pounds. In his first match, Michael lost by a 3-2 decision to Norwood's Harley Workman. In the consolation round, Michael pinned Yuma's Joey Ross in 2:34 before losing to Centauri's Jordan Martin by an 8-5 decision.

Brooks Jones of Wiley was in the 195-pound weight division. He started the tournament with a 6-2 decision win over Centauri's Jownes Archuleta. However, he lost in the quarterfinals to Wray's Carson Berghuis by a 14-6 major decision. In the consolation bracket, Jones was pinned by Peyton's Zak Cobb in 4:16.

Chase Stolzenberger of Eads was County Line's final state qualifier, wrestling at 285 pounds. Stolzenberger lost in the first round to Centauri's Remi Lucero in 51 seconds. Lucero went on to win the state championship. In the consolation round, Stolzenberger pinned Yuma's Lars Sims in 3:43, but then lost to Lotus' Scott Torrez in 4:06.

The Rivals finished in 21st place with 36 points.
