Carlos Lucero, 85, went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2020.
At his home, in his sleep, in La Junta, Colo., that he shared with his wife, Bonnie for 18 years.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1934, in Cuba, N.M., to Benerito Lucero and Carlota (Salazar) Lucero.
Carlos (also known as Chuck to his friends and Charlie to his family) had retired from the US Air Force of 20+ years. He then worked and retired from Mountain Bell telephone in Pueblo, Colo., after 18+ years.
One of his true passions was playing his guitar, which he did very well.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Carlota, his first wife of 43 years, Betty (McGrath) Lucero, mother of their four children Chris, Robert, Carla and Jeff.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Willie, sisters Bisentita (Bessie) and Margarita (Margaret) and his son Jeffrey Scott Lucero.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, sisters Ernestina (Tina), Bertha, Felipita (Lipa), Tobias (Toby) and Jennie. And his brothers Arturo (Arthur) and Richard (Gabby).
Also, survived by his children: son Robert (La Junta), daughters Chris (Florence), Carla (Pueblo) and a special thanks to Gina, Bonnie’s daughter, that came from Alaska and was a special help in Carlos’ last days.
As per Carlos’ wishes, Imperial Funeral Home of Pueblo, Colorado will be respectfully honoring his wishes. Carlos requested cremation with no viewing, no services and no memorial services.
Carlos (Charlie, Chuck, Bonzo) you will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Bonnie and his family and friends.
