Peggy was born in Edler, Colo. on February 1, 1933, to Claude and Louise (Gretchen) Jones. Soon after her birth, the family (her parents, Leonard,Faye, Bobbie and Peggy) moved to Las Animas, Colo. where Claude started his career with the United States Postal Service and Lou worked as a nurse.
Peggy enjoyed growing up in Las Animas. She was the catcher for her softball team, worked as a carhop at the drive-in, an usher at the Ritz theatre and a soda jerk at the City Pharmacy.
Peggy had all of her schooling in Las Animas where she was a cheerleader and played the saxophone in the Bent County High School marching band, which won the state championship in 1949. It was in the marching band that Peggy fell head over heels for the
love of her life, Howard Stoker of Haswell, Colo. Howard and Peggy married in Las Animas on May 25, 1952.
After the Army finished with Howard, he and Peggy started adding to their family-Sandra Kay in 1955, Walter Howard in 1957 and Susan Carol in 1959. They lived in the Denver area until 1968 when Howard was transferred to Colorado Springs by Texaco. In the
Springs, Peggy flourished as a stay-at-home mom. She set records in her bowling leagues and was asked to attend the National Bowling Association Championships in Indianapolis. Howard and Peggy started collecting antiques and would frequently travel
state to state to visit every antique store they couldfind, leaving one of the kids in charge of all the pets. During their travels they would surround themselves with country western and big band music.

If you ever visited the Stoker home you would probably be pulled into some of their many card games, baseball, basketball and football games or maybe even a contest on who could kick the longest field goal at the local park. They also began the Stoker
Family Fantasy Football league. Peggy was an avid Colorado sports fan but especially loved the Denver Broncos. They bought the family season tickets and even ventured to San Diego to be a part of the fan base to witness the Denver Broncos winning their first
Super Bowl in history! During the Bronco games you could hear Peggy cheering on her team and many times yelling, “Get him” when our defense let through an opposing teams runner.
Family was very important to Peggy, but her faith even more so. Peggy always believed in God and revered him, but after studying the Bible more intently she realized something was missing: she needed to be born again (John 3, Acts 2, Romans 6) and on
December 26, 2004, she corralled the whole family to share the experience of her baptism into Christ near her home in Littleton, Colo. Because of her faith, many of the family have followed her into a relationship with God, including Howard in January 2009, and who passed into Paradise on February 9, 2009.
Peggy woke up in the arms of her Lord while in her home in Littleton, peacefully, and surrounded by family on November 7th, 2022.
Peggy and Howard were blessed with 8 grandchildren: Dennis Sierra (Kim), Jessica Stoker, Melissa Stoker Li (Tom), Kathleen Stoker, MatthewSierra, Jonathan Hungerford-McAllister (Danica), David Hungerford-McAllister and Samuel Stoker. Peggy
also was thrilled to welcome four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Peggy was blessed
with one treasured daughter-in-law Andrea Stoker (Walt) and two treasured sons-in-law, Al Sierra deceased (Sandy) and Bruce McAllister (Susan). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; David, Mickey, Anne, Mary Lou, Margaret, Morris, Billy
Bob, Claude (Butch), Leanne, and Teri Faye as well as many more family members too numerous to list.
The Stoker family would like to welcome anyone who knew her or the family to her graveside service at the Las Animas Cemetery on November 26th at 11am with a lunch and reception to follow at John W. Rawlings Heritage Center and Museum as we say “See
ou, Bye-Bye” (till we meet again) to this incredible Christian, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Aunt, Cousin, Caregiver and dear friend.
