Bottinis win two events each
The Aces of Spades Riding and Roping Club hosted its this gymkhana of the season Thursday at the La Junta Kids Rodeo grounds.
Two members of the Bottini family were double winners in their age groups.
Evan Bottini won two events in the senior boys division. He won barrel racing in 19.83 seconds and the flag race in 8.65.
His younger brother, Graeson, won twice in the junior boys. He won barrel racing in 20.18 and pole bending in 23.03.
The other senior boys winners were Javen Hall in goat tying in 17.085, and Tim Provost in pole bending in 23.1.
Also winning in the junior boys were Justice Hall, who won the flag race in 10.84, and Maverick Barratt, who won goat tying in 11.502.
Both J1 divisions also had an individual who won two events.
In the boys division, Haze Hall won barrel racing in 29.95 and he also won the flag race in 13.21.
The other J1 boys winners were Ian Crouch in goat tying in 18.450, and Spencer Mosher in pole bending in 35.08.
In the J1 girls, Bristyl Barratt won barrel racing in 19.21 and goat tying in 11.630.
Also winning in the J1 girls were Trinity Ortiz, who won the flag race in 10.03, and Rhya Stoker, who won pole bending in 22.4.
The tiny tots division still continues to be dominated by Ryata Stoker and Kaycee Ortiz.
Ryata Stoker won barrel racing in 30.55 and goat tying in 12.695, while Kaycee Ortiz won the flag race in 10.57 and pole bending in 43.9.
Both the senior girls and the junior girls had four different winners.
In the senior girls, Abby Provost won barrel racing in 19.81, Chanlee Pennington won the flag race in 10.43, Paige Eaks won goat tying in 8.695, and Emilee Carroll won pole bending in 23.05.
For the junior girls, Jerni Hall won barrel racing in 19.50, Hannah Bender won the flag race in 9.40, Delaney Bond won goat tying in 10.137, and Jocelynn James won pole bending in 27.9.
Javen Hall won two of the roping events. He and Jack Pachak won ribbon roping in 11.90, and Hall and his adult partner won team roping in 5.52.
Evan Bottini won senior breakaway roping in 2.50. There were no qualified times in junior/J1 breakaway roping.
