Tigers' cross country season ends
The season came to an end for the La Junta High School boys cross country team as it competed at the Class 3A Region 2 meet last Friday at Elmwood Golf Course in Pueblo.
The Tigers did not figure in the team scoring.
Placing the highest for La Junta was Santanel Orosco who finished 54th in 23:35.82. Walker Balicki was 55th in 23:45.87, Karl Ludwig was 59th in 24:45.18 and Drew Huffman was 63rd in 26:16.46.
The Classical Academy swept both the boys and girls team championships.
TCA scored 30 points in the boys race, followed by Salida with 90, Lutheran with 91, Manitou Springs with 95, Woodland Park with 103, Elizabeth with 121, Lamar with 145 and James Irwin with 222.
Lamar's Branden Davis won the individual boys championship in 16:53.45.
TCA scored 18 points in the girls race, followed by Salida with 47, Elizabeth with 76, Lutheran with 108, Woodland Park with 124 and James Irwin with 147.
Florence's Kylie Simshauser won the girls individual title in 18:56.70.
La Junta did not have a girls team this year.
