Two Otero men's basketball players earn NJCAA All-Region IX honors

Two members of the Otero Junior College men's basketball team were named to the All-National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX team.

Lonnell Martin was a first-team selection, while Porter Anderson was second team.

Martin, a sophomore, led the Rattlers in scoring with an average of 15.2 points per game. He shot 45.4% from the field, 39.5% from 3-point range and 87% from the free-throw line.

Martin also averaged 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.

Anderson averaged 9.8 points per game and he shot 65.8% from the field, 33.3% from 3-point range and 83.1% from the line.

He also averaged 3.9 rebounds per game.

This season, Otero went 15-5 overall and 9-3 in the NJCAA Region IX South. It also advanced to the Region IX Tournament.
